~ Deed Restrictions Review Committee ~
The Huntwick Civic Association (HCA has established a new Deed Restrictions Review Committee, for which we hereby solicit applications. This solicitation will be repeated in the February issue of the Huntwick Herald for those who do not receive electronic notifications. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, February 17, before the end of the Annual Membership Meeting of the Huntwick Civic Association.
Committee Policies and Procedures
The Deed Restrictions Review Committee will initially review the entirety of the Huntwick Deed Restrictions to gain familiarity and facility; subsequently, it will consider specific restrictions for possible amendment by the Membership at the next Annual Meeting. Specific restrictions to be considered will be based on the evolutionary nature of the community, including and not limited to its needs, requirements, and discretions.
The Committee’s primary requirement is to support and uphold the value of enforcing the deed restrictions, as they are the foundation of the community’s integrity and success.
The Committee’s composition will reflect, inasmuch as possible, the diversity of Huntwick. Membership selection eschews discrimination based on age, gender, race, sexual orientation, religious or political affiliation, country of origin, or physical condition. Applications for membership will be collected for a period of thirty (30) days prior to the Annual Membership Meeting, which will also be the deadline for application. Following the application period, the HCA President and the Deed Restrictions Director will review the applications and will select seven (7) members of the Committee. These members will be joined by the Deed Restrictions Director, who will serve as advisor and Board liaison; and the President, who is an ex-officio member of every committee of the HCA. The Deed Restrictions Review Committee will be announced within two weeks following the Annual Meeting and will commence its work immediately.
Following its comprehensive review of the deed restrictions selected for possible amendment, the Committee will make a report and a proposal of any amendment(s) to the HCA Board of Directors. Subsequently, the Board will create ballot item(s) of any approved potential amendment(s) for voting by the Membership.
Requirements for service on the HCA Deed Restrictions Review Committee:
- Only one (1) individual from the same household or family.
- Must not be a family member of nor share a household with a current member of the HCA Board of Directors.
- Must be a member in good standing of the Huntwick Civic Association; e.g., no financial delinquencies; no current or significant history of deed-restriction violations.
- Must own and occupy a residence in Huntwick.
