Because of the deluge, we are postponing our Fourth of July Celebration until 3:00 this afternoon. Meanwhile, please be safe and do your rain, rain, go away dance!
Start the fun by joining the parade at 11:30 on July 4th at the corner of Balmore at Glen Erica! Pool area at HRF, 5300 Coral Gables, opens at 12:00 – OPEN TO ALL HUNTWICK RESIDENTS.
Join the neighborhood in celebration of the independence of the U.S.A and the 50th ANNIVERSARY of Huntwick Forest!
Hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage on a stick, brisket, corn on the cob, watermelon, Gatorade, water & margaritas will be available for purchase.
Join us for movie nights at the park! This event is open to all Huntwick residents. Bring your blankets, bean bags, chairs, kids and even Grandma to enjoy the animated movie “SING” from the asphalt multi-purpose court at Donut Lake Park. Bring your snacks and drinks (no glass containers) and enjoy hot dogs courtesy of the Huntwick Civic Association. The film is about a group of anthropomorphic animals that enter a singing competition, hosted by a koala hoping to save his theater. Because parking space is limited, we encourage carpooling, biking or walking, using flashlights and reflective articles, of course! Remember that parking is prohibited on the park side of Charwell Crossing. Please join us for the first of the summer series of movies in the park!!

We are pleased to announce that the Annual Meeting of your Huntwick Civic Association held Wednesday, February 21 experienced a standing-room-only audience who enjoyed pizza and soft drinks, listened to presentations from Board of Directors and Deputy Terranova, and asked many important questions.
In addition, those present plus those who turned in absentee ballots or appointed proxies, accomplished the following:
- Elected new or re-elected for second terms the following board members: Cheston Cooper, Wanda Baker, Maribeth Sklenka, Marcia Brewer, Felipe Neto, and Joel Moore;
- Approved the 2018 budget; and
- Adopted two amendments to the deed restrictions: (1) defining “residential use” and (2) prohibiting short-term rentals.
Newly elected and re-elected board members will elect officers for the coming year during Executive Session at the next regularly scheduled monthly board meeting of the Huntwick Civic Association on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. (Please note that this meeting will be held one week earlier than usual to avoid conflict with spring break.) In the interim, existing officers remain in place.
As we mark our 50th anniversary this year, we thank you for helping make Huntwick the most desirable neighborhood in Northwest Harris County. Please know that you are welcome to contact any of your board members with questions, concerns, and ideas.

Thank you to neighbors Keri Dobos, Thelma Gros, Ramona Britt, Betsy Day and Sassy Crookshanks for volunteering their time and energy to this project.
Thank you to Cheston Copper and Carl Jessen for their help in getting the street signs cleaned up and also compiling a list of ones needing replacement.

Thanks and see you around the neighborhood!
