Beautification

Beautification Committee
The Director of Beautification has four main responsibilities:

  1. Landscaping maintenance of the common grounds in Huntwick
  2. Yard of the Month
  3. Lighting Awards
  4. Holiday Decorations

Landscaping Maintenance: This includes plantings at all entrances, Glen Erica esplanade, 1st 7 esplanades on Champion Forest Drive from FM1960 to Bermuda Dunes, cul-de-sac islands (3), general tree maintenance throughout Huntwick.  (Excluding property owned and managed by the HRC, i.e. The Huntwick Racquet Club and Donut Lake Park).

Yard of the Month: February – November the Beautification Committee selects one yard to be highlighted with a yard sign and a picture along with a brief article in the Huntwick Herald, post on HRC marquee and Huntwick website.  Residents must verbally agree to accept YOM and we do not repeat yards for at least a year.  Additionally, Beautification Committee members are not eligible for YOM.

Lighting Awards: Each December the Beautification Committee selects “Best” Lighting, Door and Block awards, plus there are a couple of “Lifetime” awards for long-standing annual displays.  Awards are not repeated year after year.  This is by far the most fun activity!

Holiday Decorations:  Fourth of July and Christmas decorations are selected and installed by the Beautification Committee.  Beautification also works with the Membership and Activity Director during the holiday season to sell our traditional Red Bows for the gas lanterns.

Additionally, the Beautification Committee (typically the Director) keeps the gas light supplies on hand for the convenience of the residents.  However, the monthly gaslight inspections falls under Deed Restrictions, not Beautification.
